The recent WHY17 Concert held at Neuadd Ogwen in Bethesda was regarded as a success with everybody agreeing that it had been a good evening. Eifion ‘Spud’ Davies coped admirably with his job as compere, even dressing up as one of the dancers and doing a little jig! Before the final act Shirley Gittoes (Powys SANDS and Jane Lee Barlow (Wrexham & Clwyd SANDS) came on stage – with Shirley dressed in a Welsh dragon costume which we christened ‘Ogwen’. Jane then explained to the audience what WHY17 was all about and what the plans were regarding taking the petition to Cardiff.

The finale of the evening was local group Hogia’r Bonc. The sum raised on the night – after paying expenses – was £450.00. Gwynedd SANDS would like to thank everybody who turned up to support and to those who gave generously. Without you it would not have been the success that it was.
