SANDS Gwynedd. We hold an annual Remembrance Service in the Chapel at Ysbyty Gwynedd in November - all are welcome. There are refreshments in the canteen afterwards where, if you wish, you can have a chat with members of SANDS. The 2012 Service of Remembrance will be at the chapel in Ysbyty Gwynedd on Saturday the 10th November at 2.00pm. All parents who have lost their babies – either recently or at any time in the past - are welcome to join us. |

Gwynedd SANDS Memorial Service Saturday November 8th 2008 Tachwedd 8fed 2008 This years Memorial Service was very well attended with nearly 100 people remembering their lost loved ones - they being either Parents, Grandparents, Brothers or Sisters or family members and friends. The Service was held in the usual way with hymns, readings and a sermon read by the Hospital Chaplain Wynn Roberts. But as always the emotional 'highlight' if that is the right word, is when the baby's names are read out and a flower is placed on the alter to remember them. During this part of the Service there is a strange quietness that sorts of bonds everyone present. After the Service refreshments were available in the main canteen and everyone got to chat and make new acquaintances. Later the raffle was then drawn and prizes handed out if the winners were present. Presenting Linda and Enyd with flowers after they recently stepped down from Gwynedd SANDS after more than 25 years of service, indeed they were the founder members of the support group and worked hard at raising awareness within Gwynedd. The presentation was made after the annual Memorial Service held at the Chapel in Ysbyty Gwynedd on Nov 10th 2007.
