Pan mae eich baban bach yn marw cyn, yn ystod neu ar ol yr enedigaeth, y peth cyntaf sydd yn eich taro ydi sioc, unigrwydd, teimlo nad oes neb arall yr ydych yn adnabod wedi colli babi. Rhywbeth oedd yn digwydd ers talwm nid rwan hefo'r holl technoleg fodern sydd ar gael heddiw.

Mae staff yr Ysbyty yn rhoi pamffledi i chi ei ddarllen, y peth dwythaef rydych yn teimlo fel ei wneud ydi ei darllen nhw. Ffeithiau ydi nhw sydd yn gwneud fawr o synwyr ar y pryd. Nid ydych yn siwr os ydi o yn iawn i dynnu llyniau o'r babi, er fod yr nyrsus yn dweud wrthych am wneud. Yr ydych yn teimlo'n diffrwyth, does neb yn deallt. Yr ydym ni bob aelod o SANDS Gwynedd yn dealt yn union beth yr ydych yn mynd drwy gan ein bod ninnau wedi bod trwy yr un peth. Rhieni ydym, sydd wedi bod drwy’r profiad anffodys o golli babi, yr ydym yma yn barod i fod yn gefn ag yn glust, i wrando os ydych ein hangen ni. Nid oes genym unrhyw hyfforddiant meddygol on yr ydym yn cael nerth oddi wrth ein gilydd i edrych ag i gario ymlaen.

Mae yr aelodau gwreiddiol ddaru ddechrau grwp SANDS yng Gwynedd ag wedi ei gynnal dros 20 mlynedd yn dal yma. Diolch iddynt am yr gwaith canmoladwy maent wedi ei wneud dros y blynyddoedd. Mae llawer dim ond yn dod ir cyfarfodydd  ychydig o weithiau ag wedyn dal ei cysylltiad am blynyddoedd.

Bydd ein gwasanaeth coffa yn cael ei gynnal yn flynyddol ar y sadwrn agosaf I sul y cofio sydd yn mis tachwedd, fydd am 2.00pm yng ngapel Ysbyty Gwynedd. Bydd y capel yn llawn bob amser hefo rhieni sydd wedi colli yn ddiweddar, ag eraill flynyddoedd yn ol

Yr ydym yn casglu arian i brynu offer i’r Uned Famoliaeth, mae genym raffle yn mynd ar hyn o bryd, caiff ei dynnu yn ystod amser paned a sgwrs fydd yn dilyn yr gwasanaeth

 

 

When your baby dies either before, during or shortly after birth, it is a very traumatic time for the parents. The first thing that hits you is the shock and feeling of loneliness, that you are the only ones that this has happened to. This used to happen quite often many years ago but surely not today with all the modern technology that is available.

The hospital staff give you pamphlets to read but the last thing you feel like doing is reading. They are full of facts that make little sense at the time as you are unable to get your head round concentrating on what’s in them. The nurses tell you to take photos of the baby but you’re not too sure whether it is the right thing to do as you are too numb with shock and nobody understands.

We at Gwynedd SANDS know and understand everything you are going through as we have all been there. We are parents who unfortunately have lost a baby ourselves. We are available to listen and talk or just to be there for you if you need us. We have no medical training, we have found the strength to look forward to the future from each other.

The founder members of Gwynedd SANDS are still here, they have kept it going for over 20 years and we wish to thank them for all their hard work and commitment over the years. Our service of remembrance is well supported every year, it is held on the Saturday nearest to remembrance Sunday at 2.00pm in the Ysbyty Gwynedd chapel. We have parents who have recently lost their baby and some who have been coming for years.

We are raising money for the Maternity Ward and have a raffle that is ongoing throughout the year, it is drawn in the hospital canteen after out Remembrance Service as it there that we have a cup of tea and a chat afterwards, please come along if you feel like it.
