Around the UK SANDS has over 120 local SANDS groups. These are all organised and run on a voluntary basis by bereaved parents, for bereaved parents.
Gwynedd SANDS are a group of local people based at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, who
have all gone through the experience of losing a baby, either prematurely,
stillborn or post-natal. They are there to offer support, comfort and assurance to anyone who has experienced the same, and wishes to talk about it but does not know who to. Losing a baby is both tragic and traumatic. You do not know why it happened to you and all sorts of questions go through your mind. Of course every person’s circumstance will be different. At our meetings we share our thoughts, we talk about what happened and we are there to listen. Sometimes it is difficult to explain to people if they have not gone through what you have, and often people don’t want to listen at all. If you have had a loss, please come along, in your own time, and you will be warmly welcomed.
